Corporate Blogs, why you should have one.
If you are reading this then you already know what a blog is. If this is the first blog you have visited I'll give you a quick run down of a blog.

Blog is short for web-log. As with most things Internet it was shortened to blog. Blogs have been popular amongst the digerati for a couple few years now. Why people have blogs are as varied as there are people with blogs. I started my first blog as a way to keep relatives up-to-date on my eldest's activities. That's one of the beautiful things about blogs, it is almost like an online diary. Some personal blogs are very much an online diary. Most present the author's perspective on particular subject, it is this feature that is most advantageous for corporations.

By creating a blog a corporation opens up a communication channel directly to it's intended audience. Think of a blog as a newsletter, bulletin board and calendar all in one. Here is an example of a corporate blog for LogiSense.

Receive and send faxes by email
Old style faxes used to use thermal paper. There is a host of problems associated with using that old style paper. Even plain paper faxes have problems, namely they use paper! I moved to faxes by email about two years ago. First I used eFax but now I'm using Telus.

I no longer receive paper copies of faxes. They arrive in my email as a TIF attachment. This allows me to forward them to colleagues, edit them in the computer and even apply OCR (convert the image to text).

The service is always on. I don't have to switch anything, have callers push a special button, nothing. It is very, very simpl. And the best part is it's cheaper than a second fax line!
